Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin Among 40 Charged In College Bribery Scheme

Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are just two of the folks charged with paying bribes to get their children into some of the top universities around the country, as per court documents, which were unearthed on Tuesday (March 12).

As the details of the college admission scandal unravel, it has been reported that at least 40 people have been indicted for allegedly bribing their children's entry into institutions like Georgetown, Stanford, Wake Forest University, UCLA and Yale as recruited athletes regardless of their athletic accommodates. When it comes to Huffman, best known for her role on Desperate Housewives, and Loughlin, otherwise known as Aunt Becky on Full House, the Hollywood actresses are facing charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, NBC News reported. Over on TMZ, the celebrity gossip outlet learned Huffman has been arrested and is presently in custody. She will reportedly be released on a signature bond, which will force her to appear in court at a further date.

When it comes to Loughlin, she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid $500,000 to have their two daughters designated as recruits for the crew team at USC.

Some parents reportedly paid consultants $25 million dollars from 2011 through February 2019 to bribe the coaches and administrators in order to help their kids get accepted. Meanwhile, a California man has reportedly been accused of using money to sway SAT and ACT administrators. "This case is about the widening corruption of elite college admissions through the steady application of wealth, combined with fraud," said U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling. "There can be no separate college admission for wealthy, and I will add there will not be a separate criminal justice system either."
