Bandwagon Magazine's Battle of the Bands Night 3 Recap

Bandwagon Magazine's annual Battle of the Bands continued last night at Hodi's Half Note and once again patrons were treated to four great acts, but only one could walk away the victor.

Mirror Fields - First was this really cool, sorta psychedelic band called Mirror Fields. Picture mellow early Pink Floyd, 90's shoe gaze, with a little bit of a folk vibe mixed in and you have this very unique band that is a must-see in Fort Collins.

MountainUs - MountainUs are a super chill reggae band that definitely know their roots. The performance came with the typical messages of peace and love, and sounded like a hot box. I really dug it.

Chess at Breakfast - If you're not familiar with Chess at Breakfast, I'd recommend becoming familiar with Chess at Breakfast. This power trio has been on Radio 94.9's locals show before, but what they brought to the table last night blew me away. In fact, the performance was so tight and powerful, that they ended up moving on with the judge vote, as well as the popular vote, and I'd say deservedly so.

Amorphic - Amorphic closed out the night with a fun, ultra jammy set. In fact, the band was so tight, and Caleb's guitar playing so next level that if you told me he used to be in Widespread Panic, I may believe you.

The battle continues next Thursday as it makes its return to The Moxi Theater in Greeley, with performances by Soul Solum, Polar Bodies, Nelsen, and Pie Lombardi
